A Journey to Thriving: Beth Roberts' Story

Kayley Ramsey

Beth Roberts made a good first impression at her intake for the 100 Families Initiative.

"When she and I first met I just knew Ms. Roberts would get out there and do whatever was needed to succeed," says her family advocate.

Roberts' life was not without struggles. Though she was proudly in recovery and had been for several years, Roberts needed assistance with housing, finding secure employment, financial stability, overdue bills, and reliable transportation.

Roberts needed a hand up. She found it with the 100 Families Initiative.

Thanks to community partners and her diligent attitude, she has obtained employment through the Beebe School District and is on a contract with the school district to work in the cafeteria.

Roberts has also obtained stable housing of her own and Entergy even waived her past due electric bill to allow her to start fresh at her new residence.

Roberts has completed budgeting classes and is saving for her own vehicle.

Roberts has successfully navigated through resources provided to her and is well on her way to becoming thriving in all areas of need.
