How Community Collaboration Supported Brittany's Path to Stability

Kayley Ramsey

Community members had the opportunity to hear from hardworking participants of the 100 Families Initiative at the 1 Year Anniversary of it's launch in Garland County. The 100 Families Initiative is an alliance of existing community organizations who work together to move families from crisis to stability.

One of these participants was Brittany Fox. She was living with her parents and faced challenges securing stable housing and employment. With the help of the Housing Authority, Brittany was able to find her own place to live, marking an important step towards independence.

Through her hard work and commitment, Brittany earned her CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license, providing her with a new career path. In addition to this achievement, Brittany now has a valid driver’s license, insurance, and is working toward obtaining her own vehicle, further enhancing her independence.

One of Brittany’s ongoing goals is to reunite with her children, and with each accomplishment, she moves closer to this dream. Brittany’s story is a testament to resilience, hard work, and the power of community support.
