Pine Bluff, AR — On Monday, October 13, 2025, the Jefferson County Smart Justice District Court Initiative team participated in a community clean-up event along University Drive following the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff’s (UAPB) Homecoming festivities.

As part of the Keep Arkansas Beautiful campaign, the Smart Justice District Court Initiative team joined local volunteers to focus on areas that experienced heavy foot traffic during the weekend celebration, including spaces where food trucks and vendors had been set up. Together, the group collected litter and debris helping restore the area’s appearance and supporting a cleaner, safer environment for the community.

The Smart Justice District Court Initiative emphasizes that accountability extends beyond the courtroom. Participation in community-based service projects provides an opportunity for individuals and teams to demonstrate civic pride, foster community connection, and reinforce the values of restoration and shared responsibility.

The Jefferson County Smart Justice District Court Initiative team remains committed to promoting community wellness, recovery, and civic pride through ongoing service and outreach efforts in partnership with Keep Arkansas Beautiful and other initiatives that reflect Arkansas’s commitment to restoration, engagement, and collective impact.
