The Clinton School of Public Service honored Restore Hope Executive Director Paul Chapman with an honorary Master of Public Service degree on May 2.  He received an honorary degree alongside civil rights icon Carlotta Walls LaNier of the Little Rock Nine.

Chapman was recognized for his work in reforming the systems that support Arkansas families. Under his leadership, Restore Hope has developed a nationally recognized model to improve outcomes in child welfare and criminal justice. The model helps move families from crisis to stability and on to career.

“We are delighted to confer this honorary degree to Paul Chapman, a leader who understands that public service is most effective when it is rooted in collaboration and accountability,” said Dean Victoria DeFrancesco Soto. “Paul has demonstrated that when we align systems and empower local leaders, we can solve some of our most complex social challenges. His dedication to data-driven results and his heart for Arkansas families make him a perfect exemplar for our graduates from the Class of 2026.”

“This honor means a great deal to me,” Chapman said. “You built the first graduate program of public service in the country around a clear belief that our common humanity is a powerful force for transformative and sustainable change. That is a conviction that me and my team share.”
