When Conswala walked into her first meeting with her 100 Families advocate, she was heavy spirited and hungry for hope. She was homeless with a newborn baby and had no job or support system.
Conswala's advocate worked with her to determine her goals and form an action plan. Her main focuses were obtaining employment, securing a home, and building back her confidence. With obtainable goals and encouragement from the community, Conswala hit the ground running, making huge strides towards securing an independent future.
She relentlessly put in applications, staying in constant communication with her family advocate who cheered her on and celebrated little victories with her.
Only 12 days after her first meeting, Conswala not only successfully obtained full time employment, but also established plans and budgets that allowed her to move her and her daughter into their very own apartment.
Though Conswala's journey to thriving is not over, the speed and determination at which she showed initiative and progressed has been inspiring. All she needed was a little guidance and encouragement to completely transform her life and lift her out of crisis.
