Karen Steward

Karen Steward is the Communications Director for Restore Hope. For over a decade, she served as reporter, anchor, and Content Development Director for the NPR affiliate in Little Rock, KUAR 89.1. She received awards from the Arkansas Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists for her reporting. She has also worked for the Arkansas Supreme Court as Public Education Coordinator, traveling the state with the justices to educate Arkansans about the judicial branch of government and encouraging them to become civically engaged. Karen has a passion for podcasting and launched the first podcast featuring four state Supreme Court justices. She oversees the production of Restore Hope’s Smart Justice podcast. Karen is co-founder of the Arkansas Podcast Collaborative, a nonprofit that aims to diversify podcasting in the South, and she is an organizer of ARKAST, an annual podcast festival.
