Josie Lechtenberg

Josie serves as the Smart Justice District Court Initiative Coordinator for Pope County. Her professional journey has spanned from engineering and project management to a deep passion for helping people create meaningful change in their lives. As a first-generation college graduate, she understands what it’s like to start with very little and work hard toward something more. Growing up, there were times when her family needed a car but couldn’t afford one—and someone from their church gave them an extra vehicle. That generosity made a lasting impression on her, showing how much community support and opportunity can transform a person’s path. With time, determination, and guidance, Josie built a strong career and financial stability, but she has never forgotten where she came from. Community resources and people who believed in her opened doors she wouldn’t have known how to find on her own. Through Smart Justice, Josie hopes to help others find those same opportunities—to remind them that where someone starts doesn’t define where they can go. With determination, guidance, and hard work, anyone can get to where they want and need to be.
