Last year Skye Mitchell, Russellville School District homeless liaison, had nearly 600 students identified as homeless—80 of them living week to week in local motels. When a single room costs $360 a week, every paycheck just goes to surviving, not escaping poverty. This is what families face when the system isn’t built for stability.
